Robert "Robbie" Porter Klum, age 72 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home in Centerville, Iowa.

He was born January 8, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ned and Mary (Robinson) Klum. Robbie attended school in Centerville from kindergarten through high school graduation. He also attended Centerville Junior College. Robbie later received both his undergraduate and master's degrees in Industrial Technology from Northeast Missouri State University.

Robbie taught in Agency, West Des Moines, Moulton, and Centerville. In retirement, he was a substitute instructor at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville. He always strived to help his students in the classroom and more importantly, he pushed them to be better individuals in life in general.

He had many interests, including: singing, boating, camping, flying and attending family events.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Mary Klum; a brother, Laurance Lee Klum; and a niece, Lisa Zierke.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Klum of Centerville; a daughter, Kelli Klum (Rick) Waybill of Moulton; a son, James (Amber) Klum of Centerville; grandchildren, Mickie McKinley (Zack), Kiera and Kasen Klum; step grandchildren, Gage Ritz, Jessica Waybill, Michael Waybill, Avery Waybill, and DeEtta Waybill; two sisters, Kathy (Lawrence) Labertew of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jane (Ray) Cassatt of Centerville; a brother-in-law, Alan (Sharon) Boettcher of Moulton; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Jake; and napping buddy cat, Mocha.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Orleans Church near Moulton, Iowa with Pastor Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, Iowa. A visitation will take place at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 12 PM- 7 PM, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM. Memorials have been established to an Industrial Technology College Scholarship (high school students planning on entering the industrial technology field) and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
