Mary Lou Morrow, age 85 of Centerville, Iowa, passed away of natural causes peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at The Continental/Homestead Assisted-Living in Centerville, Iowa.

Mary Lou was born July 17, 1930 in Appanoose County Iowa to Verl and Marvel (Withrow) Perkins. She attended school in Exline, Iowa, and graduated from Centerville High School, Class of 1947. She did secretarial work for Selix Truck and Implement.

Mary Lou married Darrel Montelle Morrow in 1950 and performed the duty of United States Army Officer's wife for 20 years caring for her children Butch and David, while her husband took part in multiple deployments to South East Asia. In 1969, she accompanied Montelle to Paris, France for the Paris Peace Talks (Vietnam Conflict). She had a multitude of interesting stories about growing up on the farm and raising her boys in Hawaii, Baltimore, Texas and California. When she returned to Centerville, she was employed by Centerville Community Schools, Union Carbide and as a Real Estate Sales Agent.

She was a fantastic cook, had a big heart, always willing to care for her parents and relatives. She adored her grandsons and their friends whom she loved to have over for visits.

Mary Lou was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centerville, Beta Sigma Phi, National T.T.T. Society and P.E.O..

Mary Lou is survived by her two sisters, Norma Dean Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa and Donna Lee (Wendell) Bailey of Lincoln, Nebraska; her son, Darrel W. "Butch" (Rebecca "Becky") Morrow and David M. Morrow (partner, Marcia Thomas), both of rural Centerville, Iowa; her two grandsons Kaleb D. (Bernadette) Morrow of Bloomfield, Iowa and Sawyer W. (Amanda) Morrow of Platte City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and her two great grandchildren Emilia R. and Alexandria G. of Bloomfield, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents Verl and Marvel Perkins of Centerville, Iowa; and her son David M. Morrow of rural Centerville, Iowa.

Special thanks go out to her family, her friends, the staff at Continental/Homestead Assisted Living and HCI Hospice (formerly known at Hospice of Central Iowa).

There will be private services at a later date. In lieu of memorial, The Morrow family urges those of you who knew Mary Lou to share your time, talents, and treasures with those beloved friends and family who have been there for you through both good times and bad.
