James Francis Burgin age 69 of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, from a heart condition and pulmonary fibrosis.

He was born the son of Carl and Eleanor Burgin on December 24, 1946. He attended school in Webster City, Iowa.

He married Diane Caquelin and to this union their daughter, Kelly Lenz was born. They later divorced.

He loved fishing, golf and repairing computers. He was gifted with the ability to form relationships with elderly people.

He had several occupations including truck driver, service manager at a car dealership, salesman, and craftsman.

Jim adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was so unselfish in his love and constant gifts to his family that he would have given the last shirt off his back.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Carl H. Burgin; his great granddaughter, Mckinley Breese; and stepsons, Jeff and Greg Caquelin and their mother, Diane Burgin.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Lenz (Mike), three granddaughters: Heather Lear {Kenny}, Holly Hilty (Dennis Carroll), Halley Breese (Tanner), and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Eleanor Burgin, and four siblings: Judy Rush, Terry Burgin (Barbara), Dennis Burgin (Carole), and Vicky Habben (Monty) in addition to several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 828 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544 with Father Bill Hubmann officiating. A luncheon will be served in the Marian Hall at St. Mary's following mass. Memorials have been established to the family of James Burgin and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
