David Carl Stansberry, age 71, of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Moulton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Mosaic Life Care Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

David was born on April 15, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Everett Eugene and Beatrice (Roseleaf) Stansberry. He attended the Moulton Schools.
He entered the United States Army on November 2, 1967. David served his country faithfully during Vietnam and was honorably discharged on August 31, 1969. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Jakusz on October 30, 1970 and to this marriage, they were blessed with two children, Mary Stansberry-Schwering and Tonya Clemons. The couple later divorced in January of 1975. David married Linda Lou Jakusz on October 4, 1976 in Linneus, Missouri. The couple recently celebrated thirty nine years of marriage.

David was employed in the transportation field as a truck driver for MFA in Missouri. He was a dedicated employee for the company for many years, stepping away from his truck driving position due to health reasons.

David was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. He also enjoyed listening to 1950s and 60s country western music. David had a passion for working on his cars when time permitted. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. David and Linda attended the Pentecostal Church in Chillicothe, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Stansberry of Chillicothe, Missouri; ten children, Mary (Wes) Schwering of Ottumwa, Iowa, Ted Leffler of Trenton, Missouri, Frank (Brenda) Leffler of Chillicothe, Missouri, Rosemary Leffler of Chillicothe, Missouri, Ellen Morris of Trenton, Missouri, John Leffler of Chillicothe, Missouri, David (Rachel) Leffler of Chillicothe, Missouri, Linda Grace Kincaid of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Agnes Youngs of Chillicothe, Missouri, Tonya (Kenny) Clemons of Oskaloosa; three siblings, Barbara Jean McDuff of Florida, Richard Lee Stansberry of Ohio, and Gene Ray Stansberry of Udell, Iowa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; a step-mother, Grace Spears Stansberry; and seven siblings, Gary Dean Stansberry, George Everett, Helen Ann Stansberry, Orval Leo Stansberry, Wayne Eugene Stansberry, Norma Lorriane Stansberry and Freda Ann Stansberry.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Jim Ratliff officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Hilltown Cemetery near Moulton, Iowa. A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 12-2 PM.
