Tribute & Message From The Family

Larry Daniel Bradshaw, 73, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away after a brief illness on June 2, 2016 in Springfield, MO with his children by his side.

Larry was born in Centerville to Johnnie D. & Leota F. (Bradbury) Bradshaw on August 14, 1942.

He attended school in Moulton and graduated in 1960. After graduation he served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War being honorably discharged on April 6, 1967. Following active duty he continued with the Army Reserves until being discharged on March 31, 1970.

He was married to Peggy Broshar on April 20, 1969 and to this union came four children. He and Peggy divorced in 1990 and he never remarried.

Upon returning from his military service in 1967, Larry returned home to Moulton to work alongside his parents at Bradshaw Feed and Grain. Larry then developed after marriage one of the first SPF swine herds in the state of Iowa as well as operated a custom bull test evaluation program on the farm. He and Peggy purchased their second farm, also south of Moulton, phased out the swine operation and began developing a registered Angus cattle herd under the name of Bradshaw Angus Farm, selling and exhibiting cattle throughout the area. Also about this time and with his family growing, Larry completed construction of a large addition to the family home. When the opportunity arose to purchase undeveloped land further south of Moulton once owned by his grandfather Daniel, he bought it and undertook construction of a new A-frame home and moved his family there. He worked off the farm installing stand by generators for telephone companies across the southern Midwest and later sold and installed security fencing as well as being an electrician. Larry eventually moved to Cassville, Mo and formed a company called Jus' Drop It with his nephew Greg, mapping and installing fiber optic cable. It was during these later years that he purchased his final home on Table Rock Lake where he enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and watching NASCAR races with friends and of course, his dog Jack. His greatest pleasure was sharing his place on the lake with his kids, grandkids and friends. He will be missed by many!

Larry is survived by his son Daniel Bradshaw of Hubbard, Iowa, daughter Nichole (Jeff)
Moore of Centerville, Iowa, daughter Stacey (Andrew) Cowan of Kansas City, Missouri
and son Jonas Bradshaw of Lee's Summit, Missouri. Grandchildren Kelsey and
Kaitlyn Moore of Centerville, Iowa, Maxwell Bradshaw of Blue Springs, Missouri,

He is also survived by two sisters, Deanna Herrington of Bolivar, Missouri, and Janet Reaves of Bella Vista, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his best-buddy and devoted companion, his Jack Russell terrier, Jack.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

His family wishes to extend our sincerest thank you to his neighbors Christine & Mike Creason, Terry & Becky Maycher and Gerald for always watching over him.

As he requested to be cremated, a graveside ceremony with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Hilltown Cemetery, south of Moulton, Iowa for all family & friends to celebrate his life. Followed by a family gathering at the Moulton Community Center. Also a portion of his ashes will be scattered at his lake home on Table Rock during a 4th of July of gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials may be sent to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
