He was born on July 14, 1922 in Brazil, Iowa, the son of Charles and Amelia (Sporer) Radosevich. Lewis graduated from Mystic High School in 1940. He was united in marriage to Doris Moorman in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 14, 1942. Lewis and Doris spent sixty three years together in marriage until Doris' passing on September 7, 2006.

Lewis was drafted into the United States Army on November 30, 1942. Lewis achieved numerous military awards while serving his country faithfully during World War II, including one service stripe, one overseas service bar, an American Campaign Medal, a European-African Middle Eastern Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, a World War II Victory Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. Lewis also worked alongside his family at the Majestic Theatre in Centerville from 1989 to its concluding period at the Sunshine Mine Drive-In in 2009.

Family was the driving force in Lewis' life. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, along with many other activities. Lewis was a loyal supporter of the Centerville Big Reds/Redettes. Centerville fans can remember Lewis ringing his famous "cow bell" at many Big Red Football games. He was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.
