Condolence & Memory Journal

I will always remember Mrs. Gruwell with such love for the kindness she showed to our family and for the very important part she played in our lives when my brothers, sisters and I were growing up. We loved her so. My deepest sympathy to the Gruwell family. You are in my thoughts.

Sharon, I think I went to AIB with you back in the late '60s. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my own Mom a few years ago (at 92 years old). How blessed we are to have them with us for so long! May God continue to bless you and your family with fond and warm memories of your Mom.

Isabelle...An inspiration to all that knew her, as well as to all she met. God's gain, our loss, but we know where she'll spend eternity. Thank you, Ralph, for sharing her with us !

I am so sad to hear of Isabelle's passing. I have such fond, fond memories of her. When I was a kid, our family would go to Des Moines to visit her dad, Herman. And of course, we'd see Isabelle and Ruth, too. Isabelle would fix a huge breakfast. I still remember the smell of bacon frying in her kitchen. She was such a lovely person. Rest in peace, Belle.

It's hard to say good-bye to such a loving and giving Lady. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She has been the Matriarch of our family for a long time. Only prayers will help to heal this hole that has been left in our hearts.

My prayers and thoughts are of my cousins and my Uncle Ralph. This sad day in our lives will someday be a cherished memory because our sadness will be a reminder of how much she loved us and we loved her. R.I.P. Aunt Bell... until we meet again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and for you. I am so blessed to have known Isabelle as an adopted "Nana". My life has been impacted and blessed to have known her and the entire Gruwell family. I treasure the memories of listening to gospel music together, sharing a meal, worshipping together, and of course, never being allowed to leave your home until I played a song on the piano. Even in the valley of the shadow of death God is a comfort, and my prayer is that your hearts will be filled with that comfort as you reflect on the many special memories of someone so special. My love to the Gruwell family.

I have been praying for God's peace to encompass my Gruwell family. My Auntie was an extraordinary in many ways. I love her dearly. We shall see each other again. So glad to know she is with our Lord.
