Heather Dawn McClurg age 42 of Exline, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Mayo's St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, after a long battle with Lupus.

She graduated from Washington High School, in Washington, Iowa, the Class of 1991. She attended IHCC in Ottumwa, Iowa, and went on to get her Bachelors of Business Degree at William Penn University. On May 13, 1995, Heather married her best friend, Jeff McClurg in Exline, Iowa. She had two sons, Quinn and Chase, whom she was extremely proud of and would willingly talk about whenever given the opportunity.

Heather dedicated her life to the Human Services field. She worked for Centerville Group Homes, as an educational assistant for children with special needs; and later, she was a Direct Support Manager for Bethphage in Des Moines supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. In addition, she worked as a manager for Pizza Hut in Des Moines and received a number of awards for her management skills. She enjoyed being a Tupperware consultant in her free time. Heather willingly helped anyone who needed it, or asked for it. She loved fishing and being outdoors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her boys and attending all of the sports/activities that they participated in. Her house was often filled with the voices of children and teenage boys. She was loved by many.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Renee, Luke and Families:
We were so sorry to hear of Heather's passing. We didn't have a lot of interaction with Heather herself through the years of hanging with Ernie, but she was so nice to stop and give me encouragement on behalf of your family during Randy's time in the hospital. She was such a sweet person to worry about Randy when she had enough on her hands with her own illness and Ernie being in Wellman. Hugs, prayers and sympathy's to you all.

I am so sad to hear of Heathers passing! I know there is nothing I, or anyone, can say to make things easier at a time like this, but I want her family to know that I loved Heather so much! We haven't seen each other since I moved from Centerville in 2008, but, she was still someone I considered a friend. She always had a smile, and loved her family very much!
I did Heathers hair for her wedding, and I told her that I would find her a gift that, whenever she saw it, that she would always think of me. I don't know if she still had it, but, I found her a little pink pig that had a pacifier in its mouth. Heather liked pigs at that time, and she loved that silly pig! Funny how your mind will remember certain things that you thought were totally forgotten.
I know Heather is out of pain and in Heaven. But she was an angel when she was here, so she will still be an angel in Heaven!!
So, until we meet again, my dear friend!
