Tribute & Message From The Family

Trish Norquist-Jones, age 64 of Exline, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 06, 2015 at her home.

Trish was born on May 4, 1951 in Leon, Iowa, the middle child of J.B. Kelley and Valdene Clark. A sister of Mike and Dan, this beautiful red haired girl would begin her amazing journey of life! Raised in Centerville, Trish attended the Centerville School District, graduating from Centerville High School in 1969 (the height of the Vietnam War, and the Hippie Movement). Growing up and loving life in this little corner of the world during this point in history, (Trish did attend Woodstock) she still knew there was so much more of this world to be seen and places on this Earth she needed to leave her footprints upon.

Trish soon joined the Department of Defense. It was here, working with the Army, she was able to travel the globe!

She is survived by her husband, Rich Jones of Exline, Iowa; two siblings, Mike (Patti) Kelley of Centerville, and Dan (Carol) Kelley of Kirksville, Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews; and in laws, Lori Ann Williams of Santa Cruz, California, and James Robert (Carol) Jones II of Santa Cruz, California.

Trish was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Edith Clark; and paternal grandparents, Finas (Crystal) Shaffer; Richard's parents, James R. and Francis Jones; a brother-in-law, Thomas Michael Jones.

Dear Family,
Patty was a special person. Our parents and families were friends and we had fun camping together as teenagers at Lake Wapello and Thousand Hills. Her bubbling personality , her warmth and her beauty were second to none in our CHS Class of '69. Even though we seldom met over recent years, when we did, 50 years seemed to melted away and it was like " only yesterday" once again.
I will miss you, dear Patti. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband and whole family at this time. God bless and comfort all of you.

I remember when I first saw Trish when we both moved back to Centerville. I was singing karaoke at the Wayne County fair. She walked up behind me & asked if I was Debbie Harris who went to Centerville High School. I didn't recognize her because she was so thin & had a dark tan. I looked into her eyes & I knew who she was. I said " Oh my God, Patty Watty!" (That's what I always called her in school.) She said she goes by Trish now. It took me a long time to get use to calling her Trish. Loved the trip to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago with her. She's an animal lover like me. Although she was a bit more emotional about the animals than me. What a sad loss. She was a great gal. My prayers will be with you Rich. Just remember you have many friends to help you through this sad sad time. Love you.
