Pete L. Conn Sr., age 72 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Friday, July 06, 2012 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center, Centerville.

He was born on November 13, 1939 in Numa, Iowa, the son of Rall and Hazel (Manganello) Conn. Pete grew up in Numa and attended Numa Schools. He worked for both Centerville and Goughnour Monument companies. Pete enjoyed setting monuments in cemeteries. He later became self-employed and worked until his retirement.

Pete married Carol Sue Conn and to this union, five children were born. Carol Sue later preceded Pete in death.
In his free time, Pete enjoyed hobbies such as gambling and hunting. Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Pete is survived by his companion, Mary Seals of Centerville, Iowa; five children, Pete Leroy Conn Jr. of Avery, Iowa, Diana Lynn Conn of Centerville, Iowa, Kimberly Sue McMahon of Kingman, Arizona, James Edward Conn of Centerville, Iowa, and Christopher Michael Conn of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Lee Conn of Centerville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol Sue; siblings, Harley, Hazel, and a set of twins.

A visitation will be held from 1-4 PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville. Committal of the cremains will follow the visitation in the Numa Cemetery, Numa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Pete L.
