Clayton Lynn Foglesong Obituary

Clayton Lynn Foglesong, age 59 of Moulton, Iowa passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at his home.

He was born on January 22, 1957 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ira and Juanita (Smith) Foglesong. Lynn graduated from Centerville High School in 1975.

Lynn was united in marriage to Jo Ann Slack on September 10, 1976 in Chariton, Iowa and to this union, the couple were blessed with three children, Jeremy, Crystal, and Shane. Jo Ann and Lynn shared thirty one years of marriage together until Jo Ann's passing on September 18, 2007.

Lynn was employed with Exline & Morrow Construction for thirty years. He then took a different path with Steve Skelton to start a carpentry company on his own. He made a very good reputation for himself.

He also had many hobbies throughout his lifetime, including fishing and hunting. Most importantly, Lynn enjoyed socializing with friends and family. People would often stop by Lynn's house to simply engage in conversation with him. He also enjoyed riding around on his golf cart viewing the farm. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his cats and sharing chocolates with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Jeremy Foglesong (Missy Stiffler) of Denver, Colorado, Crystal Foglesong of Centerville, Iowa and Shane (Ashley) Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa; three brothers, Charles Lonnie (Tammi) Foglesong of Colona, Illinois, Bobbie Gene (Missy) Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa and Jackie Claire (Carolyn) Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa; a sister, Sheila Koffman of Albia, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Bella Stiffler, Delilah Foglesong, Kannon Foglesong, Gage Foglesong, Rylee Foglesong, Karyle McElvain, Gabby Collis, and Morgan Collis; and two sister-in-laws, Marcia Foglesong of Centerville, Iowa and Geraldine "Jeri" Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jo Ann; two brothers, Larry and Phil Foglesong; a sister, Dixie D. Everett; a niece, Michelle Martin; and two brother-in-laws, Tom Koffman and Ed Everett.

Shane, Lynn's youngest child, was by his father's side helping take care of him for the last ten years of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service and a private committal service will be held at a later date. A visitation will take place on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home from 10AM-12 PM.
