Larry Junior Foglesong Obituary

Larry Junior Foglesong, 71 of Moulton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Larry was born on April 17, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ira and Juanita (Smith) Foglesong. He was raised on the family farm near Moulton, Iowa, a childhood that included working the farm field and milking the cows. Larry enjoyed his time being a student in the Centerville School District, especially his high school years. He was an active participant on the high school track team and a graduate of Centerville High School.

He was a plant supervisor for Smith Gardens in Cumming, Georgia for many years. Larry later became a plant manager with Smith Concrete, a position he maintained for several years.

Larry traveled throughout the United States during his time of employment with a company that installed cell phone towers. It was during a business trip in Georgia that he met his future wife, Jeri. Larry was united in marriage to Geraldine "Jeri" Underwood in June of 1987 in Ring Gold, Georgia.

Larry and Jeri enjoyed traveling all over the United States. Larry also enjoyed fishing in his free time. Most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends, including his dog, George.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Jeri" Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa; four children, Sherri Jacobs of San Antonio, Texas, Frank Lee (Jill) Harris of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Darlene (Terry) Homewood of Austell, Georgia, and Tammy Marmet of Maxwell, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Madison Lee, Kimberly Davis, Billy Joe Horne, Wendy Horne, Cody Harris, Candice Harris, Gregory Jones, Amber Jones, BJ Green, and Justin Marmet; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Lonnie (Tammi) Foglesong of Colona, Illinois, Bobbie Gene (Missy) Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa, Jackie Claire (Carolyn) Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa, and Clayton Lynn Foglesong of Moulton, Iowa; a sister, Sheila Koffman of Albia, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Marcia Foglesong of Centerville, Iowa.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michelle Martin; a sister, Dixie D. Everett; a brother, Phil Foglesong; a son-in-law, Rodney Jacobs; a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Foglesong; and a brother-in-law, Tom Koffman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Rev. Jeremy McElvain officiating. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home from 11AM-1PM.
